The Journey that Led Me to You

My journey into Divorce Coaching began after my own divorce—a chapter that reshaped my life in ways I never expected. For years, I stayed even though I wasn’t happy, mostly because I didn’t know how to leave. Sound familiar? When I did make the difficult decision to go I did what most people assume they need to do: I hired a lawyer.

There were legal fees, endless paperwork, and a move across the country with my young daughter. But even with all that in motion something was missing. I learned - after pouring my heart out to my lawyers - that emotional support isn’t their role. They handle the legalities.

So I hired myself an amazing therapist. Truly, everyone should. Whether you’re divorcing, or thriving in a beautiful marriage, finding the right therapist is the greastest gifts you can give yourself. But even then, something was still missing? I had no emotional grounding, no clarity, and no guidance on how to navigate life as a co‑parent.

That is where I come in as a Divorce Coach!

Divorce changes you!

Is it hard?
Absolutely. Divorce is considered the second most stressful life event a person can experience, after the death of a spouse. Add children to the mix and its a whole new ball game!

Is it worth it?
The road can be bumpy, full of twists and unexpected turns. But when you take control of the wheel and begin steering your life in the direction you envision, the path starts to straighten and clear. You feel empowered.

Before I ever enrolled in the DCA® ADR Divorce Coach training, I found myself naturally supporting friends who were going through their own separations. When I became a part of the Divorce Professionals community, I instantly knew I had found my calling. Today, I support people just like you—whether you’re contemplating separation, in the thick of it, or holding that final certificate and wondering what comes next. Through my own journey I have found peace and now I get to help you find yours.

Divorce Coaching is like gathering all the scattered parts of your life and helping you make sense of them again. The paperwork, the co‑parenting, the overwhelm, the conflict—I help you organize it all so you can move forward with clarity. I can also help you find the other supports you may need: the right lawyer, therapist, parenting coordinator, or financial expert.

One of the biggest lessons I learned is that a lawyer is not always the first call you need to make. Divorce coaching can save you time, money, and emotional overwhelm before you ever step into a legal office. You will still need that lawyer for legalities-but I help you get clear, grounded, and emotionally steady so you can use your legal time wisely.

Helping people is my love language. I am honoured to be trusted during one of the most vulnerable times in your life. My goal is to help you feel supported, grounded, and confident as you navigate your next chapter.

As a DCA® ADR Divorce Coach, with training in parenting facilitation, child‑focused approaches, and a professional foundation in corporate communications, and office and project management, these skills allow me to help clients communicate more effectively, stay organized, and make thoughtful, child‑centered decisions throughout the divorce process. Divorce is not just something to survive—it’s an opportunity to rebuild with intention. And I’ll be right beside you as you step into your next chapter with strength and resilience.

I look forward to supporting you as you create your own peaceful, fulfilling, and empowered life.

Pathways to Divorce, divorce coach

Amy Reader

I am now married to the most amazing husband, and I’m grateful every day to be a mom to a teenage daughter and a newborn son. Our home is full—thanks to Chachi (our long‑haired Chihuahua who everyone mistakes for a Pom), Ozzy (our Ragdoll cat), and Jasper (our sweet Golden Retriever). It’s a lively and loving household and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

What fills my cup: My family! Helping others.

My favorite reads: True crime and biographies

My favorite shows: Documentaries

Superpower: I make the meanest, I mean yummiest and prettiest sugar cookies.

The little joys that ground me: Living a peaceful, joyful life with my family, coffee, chocolate, travelling, DIY and creative projects, and spending time outdoors.

Why divorce coaching: For a long time I felt alone. I tried to leave years before, but I stayed. When I finally left and rebuilt the life I only dreamed of having, I felt empowered to support others on their own unique path. I’ve found my peace and I want to help others do the same.
